11 And he shall go forth, suffering pains and afflictions and temptations of every kind; and this that the word might be fulfilled which saith he will take upon him the pains and the sicknesses of his people.
12 And he will take upon him death, that he may loose the bands of death which bind his people; and he will take upon him their infirmities, that his bowels may be filled with mercy, according to the flesh, that he may know according to the flesh how to succor his people according to their infirmities.
13 Now the Spirit knoweth all things; nevertheless the Son of God suffereth according to the flesh that he might take upon him the sins of his people, that he might blot out their transgressions according to the power of his deliverance; and now behold, this is the testimony which is in me.
Have you ever sat down in a quiet place and really considered what they Lord has done for you? He came to this earth willingly to suffer all the pains that we could ever experience in this life. Why? Because He loves us, and needed to know what we would go through so that He could know how best to help us. He not only paid for our sins and performed the Resurrection…He experienced the bad things of this world like no one else could simply so that he would be able to understand us.
Our Savior has done so much for us, and shields us from the worst that this life has to offer on a daily basis. Trust in Him. He doesn’t shield us from the things that will help us improve ourselves, but He does keep things from crushing us. As a friend of mine once said, and I have used this in previous thoughts, “Whenever your world seems to be falling down around you, remember that it’s because of Him that it is crumbling down around you, rather than on top of you.”
