“Courage becomes a worthwhile and meaningful virtue when it is regarded not so much as a willingness to die manfully but as a determination to live decently.” – Unknown

I admire those people who have or who are willing to die for something that they believe in. However, I sometimes think that people put too much emphasis on the courage it takes to die for something and not enough on the courage it takes to live for something. It would be difficult to die for your beliefs, however, I think that sometimes it requires more courage to live for what you believe in. I am not trying to lessen the legacy of those who have died for their beliefs. I just want to give credit to those who stand up for what they believe in.

This is the start of a new year. Have the courage to stand up for what you believe in. Don’t give into temptation and peer pressure. “Thy days are known, and thy years shall not be numbered less; therefore, fear not what man can do, for God shall be with you forever and ever.” -D&C 122:9 Don’t be afraid to stand up for what you believe. It may be difficult at times; but if you stand firm, the harder the opposition is the more people will respect you. I know this from experience. Stand for what’s right, and you will be surprised at how even the worse situations will work for your benefit.
