“The man who insists upon seeing with perfect clearness before he decides never decides. Accept life, and you must accept regret.” – Henri Frederic Amiel
There is always risk when an important decision is in play. In order to receive or achieve anything great in this life, you have to risk being upset or even hurt. Sometimes we take a lot of risks in order to get something that we really want. We keep beating ourselves against that brick wall that seems to always be between us and our goals. We come away battered and bruised, wondering if we can ever bring ourselves to take that risk again. But we will, no matter how many times we tell ourselves we won’t.
Why? Because this time just might be the time that things work out for us. If it works out, then all those bruises, all those nights alone in despair, all those scars that we carry from the realization of the risks we’ve taken…they all become worth it. The price we pay for the blessings we receive will always be worth it. In fact, we pay much less than the blessing we receive are worth.
So, if you’re having a difficult time, if things just don’t seem to be working out for, if it seems that your dreams will never happen, keeping holding on. Take some time to tend to your bruises, and then press forward. It will all be worth it. Don’t lose faith that the promises that have been given will be fulfilled.
